    Default Any Occupational therapists here?

    Hello!
Are there any occupational therapists here? I'm considering studying occupational therapy and wondered if there were any OTs out there who could tell me what they think of the career? Is it family friendly? Is it flexible?
    TIA!

The study is difficult with family as there are quite a few prac components to undertake and you can often be placed quite far from home and often full time hours.
Most OT's work in the hospital system which is fairly inflexible, generally just your 8-4:30pm days, a few manage to do these hours but only part time. Paediatric private practice hours may be negotiated with the owner but these positions are usually quite competitive. Happy for you to pm me. I'm not technically an OT but have extensive knowledge of the profession due to my own job

Thanks bel2466 - the prac thing is definitely a consideration - I will have to talk to the university and find out exactly what the requirements are.
