Default Anyone lost feeling in their tongue after getting wisdom tooth out

I got my wisdom tooth out on Tuesday. They told me of the risks of nerve damage so I was aware it could happen. Appears I've got nerve damage on the right side of my tongue. Can not feel a thing. The dentist checked yesterday by sticking needles through my tongue and I was unaware.
Has anyone had this? Will it ever come back?

My colleague had in her cheek, about 2 years later she still doesn't have the feeling back completely but she said it's slowly getting better. Hopefully yours gets better a lot sooner than that!

Default Anyone lost feeling in their tongue after getting wisdom tooth out

My DH lost feeling in his tongue after getting his wisdom teeth removed but it has returned - it did take time though - a couple of months from memory.

He said it was a weird feeling and he did bite his tongue heaps so be mindful of this.

    Best wishes!

Yes I did. I lost all feeling in my tongue and the bottom of my month. I kept biting my tongue and be unaware until it bled, couldnt taste food etc. I was terrified that it would stay like that forever. However, I had all feeling back about 3-4 months later. Yours will come back too, it just takes time for the nerves to regenerate.
