I wish our school was organised to do it the last week of term!! It's just annoying as while I can get a friend to look or ring the school, that doesn't help me find the classroom . I never got a tour so will have to wander around to find where the kids are as there is 2 pre-primary areas and I only have a vague idea of where DS will be.

But I found out the uniform shop is doing extended hours, so we will just go in after lunch, and stand around for ages in the heat instead . I asked in the office last year as they said the lists would be up the Monday morning and they weren't when we went at 11:30. I got the dragon. She's not very helpful. There were a few of us asking and she made a huge deal over telling us which classes the kids were in. If I could guarantee I'd get one of the nice ladies, I'd still go in in the morning!

Good idea, but there's no movie theatre here . And most shops are overpriced tourist stuff. I'll just have to suck it up. It's just going to be hot so hopefully we're not in line too long as only need new hats!

Our school puts the class lists up the afternoon before the kids go back in case there are drastic changes, such as enough new enrolments or students leaving, to cause a class restructuring. If the parents were expecting their child to go into a particular class or with a particular teacher, because class list were posted earlier, then there would be an uproar. Especially if parents inform students. Whereas, if it is left until the last afternoon then all that is sorted and checked.

We (the teachers) also have to wait until the day before to get our class lists as well. Which is a PIA when you have multiple name tags to be made, cut and laminated ready for day one.

We don't find out which class until the morning of first day of school. It's beyond frustrating, kids are highly anxious wondering who their teacher is and what friends they still have and we as parents are traipsing all over the school with their very heavy book lists trying to find their classrooms! It drives me up the wall.
