None of mine made it to day 5... (3 eggs collected, 2 fertilised, and one transferred at 3 days). I'm probably not a good example. Generally between 30-50% make it to day 5, so you should expect between 4-8 eggs I would assume. It depends on the quality of your eggs though- you could get a lot more!

That is great numbers. Don't go off other people as we are all different. I've done 2 cycles, both got 11 eggs so 22 in total but out of that only have 3 that made it To day 5. Fingers crossed you get lots at day 5 xxx

It depends on your specific issues. Obviously someone who just needs help with getting the sperm and eggs to meet will have a much higher rate than someone whose got issues with quality on either side.

We did 4 cycles with my eggs and DH sperm 50+ eggs not a single thing to transfer by day 5.

We've done 2 cycles with donor sperm. Around 30 eggs and ended up with 6 day 5 embryos. 2 have resulted in pregnancy. 1 still birth and currently 14 weeks.

I personally find the week between pick up and transfer worse than the TWW. I remember being so excited with our egg numbers only to be devastated a few days later.

I hope you end up with plenty of lovely embryos to transfer but I wish people had been honest with me so I wasn't so heart broken the first time.

From 7 eggs we had 4 make it to day 5. 2 of them are DD & DS.
It does depend on many factors and every cycle can be different. With that many eggs you have a great chance of having a few embryos make it to day 5. It's very nerve racking but you've just got to wait it out unfortunately.
Good luck! Hope you have a great outcome.

Good luck! Hoping for the best for you we had 11 eggs collected and 7 fertilized of which 5 made it to the freezer (3 x 3 day embryos and 2 x 5 day embryos). I had to have a frozen transfer so we had the 3 x 3 day embryos thawed and grown to 5 days, the best was transferred and is our 18 month old dd and the other 2 weren't considered good enough to re-freeze.

Wishing you the best of luck.

My first two cycles were with a FS who only did 3 day transfers.

    Different fs (Wazza the god)

Stim 3. 26 eggs collected. 11 made it to day 5. Was a freeze all cycle due to severe ohss . No bfp's from this cycle.

Stim 4. 22 eggs collected 13 made it to day 5, 2 of which were left to go on to day 6 for a fresh ET. DS2 came from that fresh transfer.

Default how many eggs made it to day 5?

Cycle 1 - 11 eggs.. 2 made it to day 5. Both put in.. Turned into my 2 yr old.
    Cycle 2 - 9 eggs at pickup .. 1 to day 5 bfn
    Cycle 3 - cancelled
    Cycle 4 - 2 eggs nothing to day 5

    Donor eggs
    Cycle 5 .. 13 eggs.. 2 to day 5.. Single transfer..Bfn
Cycle 6 .. FET .. Single transfer.. Bfp but then miscarriage.
Cycle 7.. New donor.. 24 eggs collected.. 11 blasts on day 5/6. 1 put in.. Almost 11 weeks pregnant.

As you can see.. Very hard to predict.. Especially if age and dodgy eggs are not on your side.

    Hope you have success!

Obviously hard to predict but if you get 3 left at day 5 you should be happy with that, I would think that's about standard. It's day 4 when they usually drop off, so if you get a large number at day 4 please don't be disappointed when you find out most of those have died.

    Good luck!
