She was sent for a hearing test after her 18 month check up as the GP and I weren't happy with her speech (or lack thereof) development. He had noticed fluid on her ears at a couple of appointments by then and wanted to get it ruled out. I told him and the audiologist that her hearing was fine and then just about fell off my chair when the testing came back that she had some loss due to the fluid. She then had her adenoids out and her grommets in and her speech exploded!!

Now she is 4.5 and as part of the school readiness stuff she went for a hearing test and failed. I wouldn't say I notice an issue with her hearing but she does have behaviour problems and has recently been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and is waiting for an ADHD assessment. We're still in very early days but now we are wondering if some of her behaviours are to do with her ears.
