We went last year when DD2 was 8 months old. I was still BF but would make her a bottle before bed at night so I took the formula & bottles I needed & used the bottled water & kettle in the room to make them up. She was also on solids by then so I brought packaged food with us, and would let her eat from my plate if she wanted.
On the contrary to what a PP said, I preferred to go before she could crawl or walk, because it meant I didn't have to worry about her wandering around an unfenced pool, and she was happy to sit in and sleep in the pram. We hired a pram and had it delivered to and picked up from the hotel so we didn't have to take it on the plane, and I wore her in the carrier to and from the airport.
Sunscreen and insect repellent are important any time you leave your hotel room (and sometimes you have to deal with mosquitoes IN your room as well), but that goes for the whole family anyway. I also added a liquid baby probiotic to my girls food and water that I got from the chemist at home. Nobody got sick at all.
The locals adore little kids & babies but I never felt as though the kids were in danger at any time and they had a ball making new friends wherever we went. I always had an eye out just in case, but our experience was entirely pleasant there.

we are going when baby is 3 months old. he will be breastfed so no issues but we took ds when he was 8 months on a bottle and still no issues. he has been when he was 4 also and that's when first time he got sick. I think small babies are easier to keep from getting sick because no food or touching things
