    Default Periods after a miscarriage

Back in November I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. Wanting to give my self time to heal after multiple m/c and then the missed mc, I decided to go onto birth control. Just wondering how long it takes to get AF? Missed m/c was Mid nov, started the pill towards the end of Nov and still no sign of AF. Could the pill have stopped AF from arriving?

Hugs. I would think your period should have come by now. My miscarriage was a blighted ovum that was discovered at the 12 week scan. It hadn't progressed much past 7 weeks, and because it had been 5 weeks without me miscarrying naturally, I had a D&C. My period came back next month.

Have you been to the dr?

Sorry to hear you have been through a tough time too! Our bodies can really be our worst enemies at time. I too had a D&C which was over 7 weeks ago, HCG had dropped below 5 by 3 weeks so technically there's no reason why it shouldn't have turned up. With all my other m/c my period had always turned up 4 weeks later, expected the same this time. Guess I better book an appointment with my GP.

They do. Mine was nearly 8 years ago now and we've had 2 kids since then. It's pretty nerve wracking being pregnant after a loss, but I hope when you're ready, you get to hold a baby of your own. Good luck at the Dr's. Hopefully it's just your body adjusting to the pill.

I lost my twins at 17 weeks in December. Had a D&C due to infection and retained product. I just got my period now 5 1/2 weeks later.

Thanks @BabyG4 I've always been pretty regular, unless on IVF meds. I hope your AF comes soon...

@BabyG4 I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks, had a D&c on the 4th of November and AF arrived on the 18th of December, just over 6 weeks after. I hope everything starts to get back to 'normal' for you soon. It is a devastating experience, I had 3 early miscarriages in 2016. Really hoping we get our take home babies soon.

Sorry to hear @julianicholson, it's one of those things that you have to cope with the loss, then even a D&C but multiple m/c break you AF should be arriving, have just started the white pills on my pill packet today. No sign of AF yet, I'm so worried about that first one after the miscarriage too.

@BabyG4 your body will do its thing when it is ready I promise. My AF was fairly standard after D&c if you are concerned have a chat to your doc.
