    Default am i going crazy

    ok i thing I'm seriously loosing it. I'm 10 dpo and caved in & went & done a test. I picked up a opk strip instead of HPT. I realised when I dipped it. the opk has a faint line like what the do we have the LH stuff in our body every day? do opk pick up hcg ?

    Yes you can have a line on an opk on any day of your cycle due to LH but opks can also pick up hcg. However opks aren't reliable as a hpt, especially before af is due.

    You can try looking up opk as a hpt if you want more info. There used to be a really good website about it.

    I am 12dpo today and have been getting BFP's on HPT's since 8dpo. However, just out of interest, I tested with an opk the other day, using the same urine sample I used for my hpt (which came back positive) and got only the faintest line on the opk - much fainter than what I got on the hpt. LH is similar to HCG, and an OPK will detect HCG. However, there is always some LH in your system so for me at least, I almost always have a faint line on opk tests. A HPT will only show a positive result in the presence of HCG, not LH. In my experience, you will get a positive HPT much sooner than getting a dark line on an OPK - which could then be indicative of either HCG or LH, and a faint line on an OPK isn't indicative really of anything.
