Default Can you elect for a c-section going Public?

Just after a little help, I'm 15 weeks pregnant with baby number two and want to book in for a c section. Will they let me do this at a public hospital?

A little background - I had my 17 month old at 31 weeks at a private hospital due to a placenta abruption, she was very sick suffering from multiple issues (one of which was a stroke) and spent 6 weeks in nicu at the royal children's hospital after her birth I found out that I have mthfr and this was the cause of the placenta abruption. I'm absolutely terrified of this happening again and don't want to risk waiting out a natural labour. We were extremely luck that I made it to 31 weeks and that she is now a happy healthy baby.

    Thanks

I'm assuming you had a CS last time? In which case, yes, you can opt for an elective repeat caesarean. Most elective caesareans these days are booked around 39 weeks, so you may still labour before hand, but you can usually make the call at that time whether you want to continue with the plan for a CS or elect to try for a vaginal birth.

Yes, it was an emergency c section. Thanks that's great to know, I have bought it up a few times but haven't been given an answer.
