Default + HPT 18 days after miscarriage.

    Hi All,
I had a Miscarriage 18 days ago and have been bleeding since, was spotting a week before the miscarriage.
I was curious as to why I'm still bloody bleeding so I took a test this morning and its positive came up straight away. Does this mean I need a D&c??
    Anyone else had this?

    xx

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage I think your best option is to head into the doctors to get some blood work. Did you have it checked after the miscarriage to see if your HCG was dropping?
Just wanted to add I had a missed miscarriage in November at nearly 12 weeks, I had bleeding for 2-3 weeks and HCG took 3 weeks to come back down, that was also after a D&C.

    Hi @BabyG4

Yes this cycle was a FET.
    These were my HCG levels.

    9/12 14dpt = 90
    12/12 17dpt = 110
    14/12 19dpt = 189
    17/12 22dpt = 156

So it's been 17 days since my last test which was actually going down, I thought it'd definately be over now but the test I took this morning is just as dark as the last hpt I took at 13dpt.
I am seeing a GP this afternoon. Just wanted to avoid a D&c.

Have you DTD during that time? Not sure if it's possible for you to fall naturally but my OB has always said, you're more fertile after a miscarriage (not sure if there's any proof to this but it did work for us years ago).

I'd be asking for a scan to make sure you have actually miscarried & see if there's anything left behind. It'll be a lot more accurate than the blood tests.

I did ask my FS and even the hospital a few times too do one. But they said that they won't be able to see anything because it was so early. They won't do a scan unless hcg reaches 1500 or something.

It would be a good idea to head back to either the GP or clinic to get another HCG done just to make sure it's not ectopic. A scan with this range HCG is unlikely to show anything. Bloods are a better indicator of what is going on.

Also are you testing with FRERs? They are incredibly sensitive so may show up just as dark. It can take weeks for your HCG to fall especially if you haven't actually miscarried yet. You can bleed for a while before you pass the 'TMI' products of conception.

No no bloods since the last one 17 days ago.

1 spotted for 1 week brown. And then had a couple hrs of heavy bleed and cramping and passed a large some of what looked like to me a bloody deflated balloon. And have been bleeding since.

Did you get a chance to speak with your FS? Still testing positive so long after a MC when you're levels were low to start with shouldn't be right. Hope things start to settle for you soon.
