I had 3 kids aged 4 and under. No way in hell I would take my 4 year old, 2 year old (who at that stage was a nuisance and a runner) whilst carrying a newborn in to pay for petrol. That risk for me was greater than leaving my kids in my car to pay for petrol. Nothing will ever convince me otherwise.

Guidelines are also to rear-face as long as possible.

Risk assessment, we all do it.

Did you conveniently forget to read the last point about planning ahead to buy petrol? (Wait until partner is home, wait until 2 adults are in the vehicle?) from memory you live in the city and don't have a FIFO partner?

Yes, I read it. What you posted was about summer time. This is my own personal risk assessment and my conclusion is that my 3 children will stay in the car at a petrol station because I believe they are safer there. Almost 9 years of parenting and regular visits to petrol stations with kids in the car (even if not getting petrol) and my appraisal has been 100% correct every time.

Some unvaccinated kids don't get sick too - doesn't make it ok.

Your assessment if risk yes - however it would be great if you acknowledged you are going against guidelines and did not investigate reasonable alternatives to leaving your kids alone in a car.

Again, you posted a link about children being left in locked cars with Windows up on 30 degree days where the inside of a car is 70 degrees. I've never left my kids in a locked car with Windows up on a 30 degree day.

Guidelines suggest babies shouldn't be sleep trained until 6 months. Do you usually follow all guidelines or do you occasionally make your own assessment?

What guideline? What does that specific guideline consider to be sleep training? Putting your kid down in appreciate bedding and at appropriate intervals ..lol.

Nice try to deflect from the fact that you leave your kids unattended in a car against recommendations. !

You know what I am talking about but just being facetious.

I am 100% confident with my assessment and will continue to leave my children in the car at a petrol station.
In NSW it is not against the law to leave your child in a car at a petrol station.

    .
No - seriously I don't. There is a whole spectrum that constitutes sleep 'training.'
