    Default Age - first pregnancy

Was wondering at what age were you and your partner when you got pregnant with your first child?

And did you have anybody not approve of this pregnancy and how did you deal with it ?

    Thank you

We were both 25 Not that it should matter, but we both had well established careers, had been married 5 years, and had purchased our first home - which we intentionally purchased a modest home so we could afford to pay the mortgage on one income so I could be a SAHM until the kids are at school. We didn't have any negativity about our choice (... not to our faces, anyway!) We did have a few comments about how we hadnt travelled yet (I still havent been overseas) - but we are pretty happy to have achieved good careers, a home, and marriage before children - I'm happy to wait to travel afterwards.

We were both 22 (23 when he was born). For the social circles I mingle in this was very, very young. It was quite the scandal actually. I went to an all girls high school with 140 girls in my graduating year. I was the 2nd to have a baby and the next didn't happen for about another 4 yrs or so. So, it was a big deal. I'm 31 now and I would say most of my friends are still a few years off having kids.

My aunties and uncles carried on like I was a teen getting pregnant. Reality was though I had a degree, we owned a house (bought while pregnant), had spent 2 yrs travelling Europe and the US and had been together for 4 yrs. It wasn't the end of the world like it was made out to be 😜

    Default Age - first pregnancy

I fell pregnant at 24, DH was 25 and gave birth 2 days after my 25 birthday. I was one of the first in our group to have a baby and the first grandchild. There didn't seem to be any issues about age and all our friends and family followed not long after.

I was 18, just 19 when I had my son. Father was 23. His family approved, mine took a lot of coming around. Love my son terribly but they were right to worry. I am now a mum of 3 soon to be 4 and I hope my children do a lot of living before settling down into adult life and the responsibility of parenthood. Although I would be supportive regardless.

I was 37 (almost 38) unexpected - I was 19 weeks when I found out. Everyone was overjoyed. DH and I were not married until DS was 2.

My parents don't like my partner and I'm worried that when we do decide to ttc they will not be supportive at all

I was 22, DF was 25. We were the first in our circle to have a child (even now, nearly 5 years later there are only 3 other kids and one is ours).

We had nothing but support from everyone around us I regularly got comments from strangers, thinking I was about 16, but even so there was never anything negative to my face.

Oh, and my parents didn't like my partner either. They seem to have come around somewhat; at least they're always pleasant to him now.

I was 35 for first and everyone was very happy for us as they'd been waiting a long time in anticipation (we'd been married almost 10 years at that point). We'd been mostly career focused including living overseas for work. I honestly couldn't care less what anyone thinks though - pregnancy is such a personal thing and if you feel you are ready (whether it be 20 or 40) then good on you and go for it!
