    Default New Year resolutions?

    What are your thoughts on new year resolutions? Do you have any for 2017?

    I don't make them often but I do think that the end of year period and the start of a new year is a good opportunity to reflect on things and commit to changes, kind of feels like a fresh start.
    For me they need to be quantifiable or they can just be a bit wishy washy. They also need to be achievable!
    So my resolutions for 2017 are to spend less money and have less 'stuff' in general. 2017 is our year of saving money as we've recently spent a lot on renos and other things.

    Love to hear your thoughts!

    I don't generally make NY resolutions but this year since we have Bub on the way I have a resolution to finally start and keep a budget!

    I have resolved to prioritise my kids, my marriage and my health (mental and physical) above all else. I am going to start by cutting toxic people out of my life (beginning with my sister who deliberately ruined xmas for the 8th time in a decade).

    My other resolutions are:

    * be more active
    * meal plan more
    * have an overseas holiday
    * get a promotion or a new job
    * prepare a will
    * spend less money
    * eat less sugar
    * find a decent psychologist to deal with my family issues

    Mine are:

    - lose 10kgs and improve my overall fitness and health
    - reduce sugar intake back to no more than 40g per day
    - return to study online, just one unit per semester.
    - make some local friends

    Thanks for starting the thread. I've been feeling really unmotivated, so this has got me thinking about goals and having something to work towards

    Mine include:

    *Lose 20kg 👊
    *Maintain a daily fitness routine
    *Meal plan/eat better
    *Spend more time with family
    *Finish (or close to) my MBA

    I am also aiming for a zero alcohol year!

    If I achieve those things I will be very happy

    My resolution is to drink all the good wine in our wine fridge! You know, the stuff you never end up opening because it's too good and the occasion never seems right :-)

    Last year it was to go on more dates with my husband and the year before I think it was to wear more dresses.

    I try to make them very achievable.

    I want to be able to do 10 unassisted tricep dips and 10 unassisted pull ups by the end of the year. Big timeframe but I'm due to have a baby in April, by the time I can get back to the gym post-birth that takes me through to mid-June (assuming baby is on time) and I have a lot of work to do to get to that point lol.

    We also have a joint resolution to get our home storage and particularly the stuff that is currently stored in baby's room sorted out by the end of Jan.

    These are great ideas and I hope everyone has success in achieving their 2017 goals
    I could certainly do with less sugar, more exercise and less alcohol but as I said I like to make mine achievable
