I don't like it. And I can't stand jelly, hated it as a kid and stopped eating it. My brother thinks that's weird.

    The best!!

I think its the way you make it - my Auntie made one yesterday for Christmas day and although it tasted ok it had the soggy cake... She had put cake, then custard then spooned set jelly on top then cream.

To me it is cake, with jelly set over the cake, then fruit if you add it, then custard, then cream.

I have fond childhood memories of this one...maybe that is why I enjoy it so much. My Nanna made the best trifle ever and she would make two - one with sherry for the adults and one with orange juice for the kids. Then there was the year she had a few too many swigs of sherry making the trifle and mixed up the adults and kids trifle.

Now Nanna is gone, its not quite the same, but we still do one - cant be Christmas without trifle

It's an idea for leftover sponge, but has to be majority cake. I had one yesterday that was liquid at the bottom (Like a sherry slurry) and custard/cream 3/4 of the top.

Not a fan. My mum has been making it for years and my extended family LOVE it and never understood why. I finally tried it yesterday and must say it was average. Cream custard and jelly.... Far more delicious deserts out there.

Sorry I'm in weirdo camp too!
