    Default Am I a grinch?

I guess it's what you are used to. I went to bed at 3 but was up at 6 to get breakfast organised. The previous night I was out with the kids till 2am. Tonight we are going to another party where tbh if we get home by 3am it's an early night.

But I love the insanity of it all.

Not a grinch. It's Christmas for you as well and that is pretty inconsiderate of those people to not think of how they are disturbing others. I'd be annoyed and say something, I get so little sleep already, I'd be annoyed if it was more disturbed, causing me to be more tired and enjoy Christmas with my family less.

I spoke to DH about this.

He basically said that the people were out of line/inconsiderate and he said you should have turned the hose on them (lol).

I am opposite and thought they probably came from midnight mass and it is tradition for them so if it's only one night a year I am a bit 'meh'.

So two different thoughts from one household.

2:00am- totally unacceptable. I would have given them a warning to zip it otherwise I would call the cops.
Operating on 5 hours sleep, in a fog on Christmas Day, just so someone else can party on and/or enjoy their own traditions? Not happening.

100% agree with this. When you live in an urban environment where there's only a few metres distance separated by a few thin fence palings between you and your neighbours, then you need to be considerate of your neighbours and let them have quiet enjoyment of their property. Especially when it's events like Christmas where people will often up early with children, doing lots of driving, and having a big day. Basic respect.

Not a grinch at all! Common courtesy says you don't do that. How mighty selfish of them! 2am!? I'd be calling the police after 11 or 12pm.

If people want to celebrate until 1/2/3/4/5 in the morning great, if that floats your boat, but they should do it somewhere that it doesn't disturb others. I'm sorry your Christmas Day started off so horribly!

If they want to be up all night singing christmas carols, good for them. But keeping the neighbourhood awake until past 2am just smacks of selfishness. There are shift workers, people driving long distances to see family, sleep deprived parents. Would you be a stick in the mud if they were singing Back in Black rather than Silent Night? I don't see any difference!

You are not a grinch - that's totally selfish behaviour on their part. I would be so mad.
