Probably. I have gone for an hour walk and left a soup simmering on the stove....

This sounds like a good option - or suggest they change the menu.

Default Would you purposely leave the oven on when not home?

If it's a decent sized roast once it's cooked, wrap it tightly in foil & put it in the esky (without ice obviously) or a foam box & it will stay warm for hours, no slow cooker required! Plus resting meat makes it so juicy it will be great!

I've don't this heaps of time & meat stays really warm it's great for an event as you can the concentrate on your guests without having to worry about cooking!

What? Me bad- I've never given leaving a roast in the oven a second thought. That's the beauty of a roast in the oven. Not like ur off to the pub all night to get blind and forget it.

This is a great idea. If you're not comfortable with leaving the oven on, do this. And if whoever asked you to cook their dinner complains, tell them to eat it raw!

yep I would cook it and keep it in alfoil. I would not leave the oven on while I wasnt home.
