I don't think I have ever called a head a melon, or said 'tushie' in my life.

    More...lol

    Lug holes = ears
    Toothy pegs = teeth
    Schnoz/schnoozle = nose
    Tootsies = feet

I'll just add, if & when I use any of these terms, it'd be an 'in the moment' thing. Like when you're playing around with your child.

E.g. "Oooooo bubba have you got a toothy peg coming through?"

I wouldn't say, "the dentist's job is to check your toothy pegs"

We say boobies and bum. So slang still but clear enough in my eyes.

I do call their head a "noggin" sometimes. Usually when they "bonk their noggin".

Growing up it was "boy bits" for boys and "wee wee" for girls. My mother would be appalled if she knew I used those "dirty words" like penis and vagina to my children. Haha

See I was brought up calling them a w.illy and f.anny so anything else sounds bizarre to me, these just naturally roll off the tongue.

My kids know the anatomical terms as well, but the terms we use seem to be some of the most common colloquial names used in Oz.

I don't like b.um or a.ss as they were swear words "back in my day".

DD is only 18 months but I already tell her where her vagina is. When she learns about boys we will say penis. I'm not huge on technically correct terms, just ones that are clear if she ever needs to tell me about something untoward happening. Outside of that we have "bums" and "boobies" but our boobies do have nipples that she can identify now 😂

Bubs is too young but I have already discussed this with DH in length. I always use penis where I can but often interchange with willy/doodle. DH still uses doodle to this day. I say balls not testicles, but that's probably cultural habit.
For girls, I think it's more important because the stigma is higher. I will always call it vagina and nothing else. Sex Ed is important to me and will be discussed from toddlerdom.

We don't use correct terminology, but this thread has made me think we should start.

We use penis, testicles and vagina. DS who is 2 has just started saying penis and testicles. I think its just as easy as any nicknames which sound odd to me. I was taking a friend's daughter to the toilet and she was talking about her 'minny' and I had nfi what she was talking about.

eta - we were a nick name family growing up 'wee wee' for vagina. no boys in our house so cant remember what we called penises. Maybe doodles?
