    Default Suspected endometriosis

Hi, I had an appointment with a gynaecologist today for suspected endometriosis. He has said that I need to think about whether or not I would like to have a laparoscopy. We have only been ttc for 4 months. So feel like maybe it's investigating too early. But my period symptoms are getting worse each month. Not sure what to do.

I have had one and it's day surgery. It's key hole surgery and honestly worth the investigation. The only way I found out I had PCOS was from the laparoscopy and a blood test. I had no other symptoms. Good luck xo

I think my concern is that I'll feel like an idiot if they don't find anything.

Before I had my laparoscopy I had some scans done at a women's imaging clinic. From the scans they found endometriosis, I then had laparoscopy. To cut a long story short I had been ttc for almost 10 years prior both naturally and through ivf. 6 weeks post surgery I fell pregnant!

No don't ever feel like that!!! It's a path your gynecologist thinks you should take. It will give them a clearer picture of what they are dealing with.

I had mine because of infertility and because I had serious period pain. Crippled me for an entire day. I was bed ridden. Since I've had my kids it's completely changed...

My opinion is that it's minor surgery and worth the investigation.

Thank you so much. We've only been ttc for four months, so it's not really to investigate infertility for us yet. But I have extreme period pain each month coupled with nausea. It's hard to do my job well. So it's to investigate those issues. Glad to hear all is well with you now.
