I agree that only bar soap works on armpits. I also use it on my feet but find it too drying for my whole body.

For those of you with unwanted soap there is an organisation called Soap Aid who send soap to countries overseas with sanitation issues to help promote/enable hand washing to reduce diseases. They take unwanted soaps including (I believe) part used soap (they reprocess it).

Only body wash in our house. Liquid soap for hands. I use body gloves so I get a good lather. Soap bars freak me out.

What an eye opener this thread has been! Who knew so many people were freaked out about bars of soap?

Not until I was pregnant with my first DD four years ago. About 7 months in I developed a bizarre craving for the soap my mum used to buy. It was the Palmolive 'Balanced and Mild' Camomile bar soap. I used to stand under the shower for ages just smelling it. And I used it in the hospital after DD was born... It now evokes beautiful memories of pregnancy and birth for me!! So now I use it all the time. Sometimes I
just stand there, under the shower, with a bar of soap against my nose, remembering the birth of my baby!

Definitely do NOT use bar soap! Purely because they make the shower really dirty really quickly. If I'm given them I chuck (if cheap) or if they were really expensive ones I'd probably take them to an op shop (if they were the ones in the packaging).

We have some nice ones that sit in a basket by the sink, with a little sign stating that it is one bar per individual as we don't share soap.

H uses the oatmeal bars for his showers.

I love a good bar of soap, especially a hand made one with essential oils. I have both options in the shower. And always liquid soap for the basin.
It's just my daughter and I at home though, and she prefers the liquid bath wash.

I love good quality soap. I think it's so luxurious to lather it up and smell gorgeous. I love Pure Fiji. Omg they're so moisturising and smell beautiful. I hate Palmolive or dove or whatever supermarket brands there are. Not a huge fan of Lush soaps either. I use shower gel everyday but occasionally use my bar of soap just to treat myself until it's all gone. It's like a blissful moment in the shower or bath for me when I use my soap. I know, I sound nuts..

We use bar soap. I like to buy it at the local markets, it's handmade and the price is great too. If I didn't have access to that, I'd use a refillable pump for liquid soap from the health food shop. We have one but I never remember to refill it.

Using soap at other people's places doesn't gross me out as long as it dries properly after use, not all gluggy and melted.
