Default You know your child is growing up when...

Share the ways your child has shown you they are growing up.

I just put kiddo to bed. He is 9yrs old. He just asked me if he could please get rid of all his stuffed toys. I asked him why because they are all on display as he has a few build a bears in the bunch. All the toys are now on my room after he replied to me that he is too old for stuffed toys. I am going to to have to find a box to store them in as he has some really nice stuffed toys.

Makes me so sad he is growing up. This time last year he would have them all on his bed and would sleep with quite a few. He is down to his one and only favourite Raffy that he has had since he was 6mths old(onto the second one now). Raffy is the only one he wants to keep.

Oh what a sad moment @Myztiks#1Fan you should definitely hang onto a few faves for the memories. I can't imagine my dd getting to that age and properly 'growing up'! Scary and exciting too. Bittersweet I guess.
My dd is only 17 months but wow the past 3 months she has grown up in leaps and bounds! Little things like picking up new words every week (shoe and hello being the most recent) and understanding so many things. And being so interested in what we are doing. The other day DH was drilling screws into our new deck using a special tool and dd was watching closely and then picked up the screws and put them right into the hole in the tool. She's also just started really noticing other kids and wanting to play and having that sort of tentative watching for a bit moment and it hurts my heart when they ignore her so I've told her not to worry I'll always be her friend
I could go on about her for hours lol I'm so boring.

Every time my DS says "No Mummy, it's Thomas" when I use one of his many cute nicknames.
Every time he says no to his emu or moo comfort toys in his bed
Every time he says "no f*&%^&^ thing" at the dinner table in front of his grandparents.

When they start talking like adults. DD said to me today while we were watching Rob the Robot today 'If you stop singing, I just might be able to hear'

Another is when I am asleep during the day and considering its school holidays, I woke up about 2pm. I asked if he had lunch and he said he made noodles because he didn't want to wake me up because I said I had a really busy night at work. So much maturity about him.

Bahahaha I get these comments from my 3.5 year old. "Stop singing, this is only for me to sing, start it from the start because YOU ruined it" to Rolling in the deep by Adele.

We were stuck in traffic on the weekend and she yelled at the car in front "dude! Get out of our way!"

    Aren't 3.5yo kids fun.

Mine are still so young but DS (3.5) physically is so long. He gets his bossy tone to tell me what to do and when I am wrong. And when I am upset he takes my face , holds it in his hands and says 'it's ok mummy. Give me big cuddles and it's ok'.
