I know money is a finite resource, but can I point out there is a few times in life things are too important for money to be a consideration, this is one of them, if you don't have the money just tell the powers that be and ask if they will help, I will bet they will.

The measurements is almost as weird as the cost. How on earth can you guess what size a baby will be in a few months time.

Ps can we see the dress design, it must be pretty special to warrant that price tag. Over $4000 in dresses for toddlers, there is surely a small degree of insanity at play.

Of course you have to consider money when planning a wedding. Especially when you have the audacity to ask someone to spend $1500 bucks on a babies outfit. People always think that their wedding is that "important " and is going to be so special they have to try and outdo each other. People lose their heads when it comes to weddings. How often in life do you ever just go out and by yourself something for $1500? But when it comes to weddings people then justify spending that on a child's dress because you know....wedding!

I can guarantee you if you asked the majority of the guests the next day about the flower girls dresses they wouldn't be able to give you a description of it except to say they all looked pretty- which they would do in a $1500 dress or a $100 one.

That's insane! I'd love to know what kind of dressmaker can charge that much for a toddler dress! I just got dresses for both my girls for my bil wedding in a few months for about $120 total at Myer and they're gorgeous dresses. We are going to get some embroidery done on them to tie in the colours of the wedding.

I'm in shock reading this thread!!! I can't believe other ppl in their wedding have paid that amount for their daughter's flower girl dress!! Not only insane, but I think it's sad that they are throwing money away like that. I wonder how much the bride's dress is!!?? Weddings are special but spending should be kept in perspective!!! (IMO)

The times when things are too important for money to be a consideration generally involve life and death, in my opinion, not weddings.

That's ridiculous. Tell her your DD will wear it but you won't be paying for it.

If she wants it to be that expensive, she pays for it. End of.

Apparently it's the fabric lace and silk that has added to the exorbitant cost. I'm hoping she doesn't grow to much in the next 16 weeks. We go down to Melbourne 8days before the wedding and have a final dress fitting, again added wedding cost.

Omg. My DD was a flower girl around 1, along with my 4 yo niece. My sister just picked a couple of dresses in their sizes. Wouldn't have cost over $100 for both. Can't believe you're expected to travel for a fitting for a baby
