@Muchulu1 OMG! That is so scary for you guys! Sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way. Poor little man. I really hope that results come back positive and that he is feeling well again really soon. Awesome you were onto the rash and fever so quick and got him to the hospital! Must be horrible to see him with all the wires and stuff though! Sending big hugs!
@hopefull29 Goodluck with the specialist appointment this week! I really hope they can find a solution that means you can stick with breastfeeding! Although in the end, whatever works and makes her happy! So awesome she is back to birth weight!! That is a real milestone! Good on you!
@jess8383 OMG! So exciting about your induction!! Wishing you the best of luck!! Whatever happens though, it is all about having that little bubba in your arms and that is the best feeling ever! Can't wait to hear how it all goes and your announcement!

AFM This week has been a little better. Still not super confident but getting there I think. Recovery is going well and I am feeling pretty much back to normal. I even got back to driving last weekend which felt fine. Most doctors say not to drive for 4-6 weeks after c-section although my doctor said i could after 2 weeks if i felt well enough. So I gave it a go! No problems at all. I also had to drive to the hospital yesterday as Lucy had to have a scan on her hips. One hip was a bit lax at birth so we were following it up to make sure that it was ok and didnt need to have a brace on it. The technician said that it was still a little lax so now just have to wait for the Paediatrician to make a decision about whether to keep monitoring or brace it. The trip to the hospital yesterday was our first trip out by ourselves which was super scary!! Lucy ended doing really well though, sleeping most the way there and back. She is a very wiggly baby though which made the technician's job pretty hard but we got there in the end!
This week we also seemed to have shifted to 4 hours between feeds. It isnt consistent yet but it is happening more and more which is nice at night. We have had some really fussy moments still but I feel like I'm getting better at dealing with them and not stressing too much.

@Mazmooz all the best for your transfer, 21 fertilised is a great number. The transfer is very similar to a Pap smear.
@Muchulu1 OMG! Not what I was expecting to read this morning. Poor Charlie (and mummy)! How is he doing now? Any answers?
@jess8383 how did your induction go? Hope all went smoothly and your snuggling your little bundle.
@Positivity thanks Hun. Yay to bring able to drive! It's nice to get your independence back. How did you go with the paediatrician? Hope she doesn't have to wear a brace.
4 hours between feeds is great! Great you're feeling like your dealing with the fussy moments better too. Less stress will make Lucy more relaxed too.

We got little miss' tongue tie snipped last week, not sure if it's really made a difference to her feeding yet but she is definitely able to poke her tongue out further and sucks on a dummy now rather than just spitting it out. She also had her 6 week check up and vaccines. Rough week for her but she handled it so well.

Hope everyone else is going well xx

I have my little bundle! They got me to go in on Thursday with the plan to give me gel. They got really busy after I arrived that it was late by the time I got examined but I was already 3cm and didn't need gel so she did a stretch and sweep. First thing in the morning they broke my waters, they started the drip at 10am and little man arrived at 12:47. He weight 2.53kg which was a little more than they were expecting and he avoided an admission to the nursery. We came home yesterday and he's been an absolute champion in terms of feeding. My daughter is absolutely smitten, as are we

@jess8383 CONGRATULATIONS!! Bugger about the jaundice... great to hear you are home again now & bub is a champion feeder
@Positivity Great that you're driving again! Hope little Lucy won't have to go down the brace path. I can't imagine that would be easy for either of you
@hopefull29 Aw definitely a rough week for little miss with her 6wk vaccinations & tongue tie snip! I bet you're happy that is all over & done with!! FX the snip helps with the breastfeeding. Are you meant to see an improvement immediately or will it likely take some time?

Well things are going a lot better for us this week! Charlie came home on the weekend. Thankfully it wasn't meningococcal! Turns out it was a very advanced UTI that had affected his whole urinary tract all the way up to his kidneys! Thankfully no permanent damage. Took a few days to pinpoint the issue & then work out what antibiotic the bacteria was sensitive to so our poor little man has been pumped with all sorts of meds, most of which did nothing except manage risk . He is feeling a lot better now but I'm anticipating another week until he is back to his normal happy self. FX all the antibiotics don't leave him with a long lasting sore tummy. Anyway, I'm thanking my lucky stars he will make a full recovery. A week in the children's hospital really does offer some perspective.

I didn't get a chance to wish you all a happy Mother's Day last Sunday! Hope you all had a special day!!

@Positivity feeding isn't going so well...... some feeds are great some feeds she's just so fussy I'm sure she gives up eventually. So I've given a few extra formula bottles here and there just so I'm sure she's eating. Apparently from weeks 6-8 nipple confusion starts. I'm still trying to breastfeed her as much as I can but I think it's a battle I'm slowly losing. Will keep going as much as I can but if she's fussy I've decided to just give her a bottle at that feed. Shes finally gaining enough weight I don't really want her to go backwards. What will be will be I guess.
@jess8383 glad you're home again! Hopefully no more dramas. What did they do for the jaundice? Little miss had mild jaundice for the first 2 weeks but they kept saying it was ok even though everything I read said it should be gone within the first week.
@Muchulu1 you normally see an improvement straight away and initially we did but I think she's decided it doesn't matter a bottle is easier regardless of her tongue lol.
So glad Charlie is on the mend. What a nightmare! Poor little guy, I can't believe a UTI caused so much I had no idea they could get that bad. I've never had one so don't really know much about them.
Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day too xx

@hopefull29 we have had a similar problem with feeding, baby has only put on 60g in 2 weeks from being only breastfed, no adding a top of formula with every breast feed to ensure he's full. Also pumping breasts to try keep supply up if able to go back to breastfeeding only. No sure that will happen now though, he doesn't seem to be getting what he needs from my milk or not able to get enough of it. I feel bad it's taken 5 weeks to get to this. Main thing is baby is fed in whatever way that needs to be.
