I can't be bothered with anything too fancy, so this is mine..
Hand sliced potatoes, parboiled before layering in dish (slice them first, made the mistake once of trying to slice them after...).
McCormicks Scalloped potato mix. 1x onion finely diced OR 2-3 chopped shallots for a bit of green colour. Cream/milk as per the packet. Good handful of Parmesan cheese mixed into the mix. Pour over potato. If I can be bothered I'll layer half, pour half the mix, layer the rest of the potato then the rest of the mix. Top up with milk/cream if required so top layer of potatoes are just covered. Sprinkle with more grated Parmesan and some cheddar to get a nice brown cheesy crust on top.
Only takes 30-45 min in the ovenš»

How do you make potato bake?
Please for the love of god keep sweet potato out of your bakes!!!!
You either love or HATE sweet potato, I'm in the latter camp. I get sooo upset when I go to tuck into a potato bake and discover sweet potato.... It can reduce me to tears š©š©š©
It's good enough without that grossness

So many potato bake deliciousness-es!
We don't do onion (in anything) as it makes me sick. I used to put bacon through the layers but think I prefer it just on top. I don't think I use enough cream so I think mine ends up a bit dry and needs a bit more creamy 'sauce'

How do you make potato bake?
I use Dutch cream potatoes, sliced with the mandolin.
Then the usual cream and milk, fresh minced garlic, season the potatoes with garlic salt and add grated cheese and shallots and fresh chopped Italian parsley in each layer.
Bake in the oven.
(If I ever make it meaty, I use fried, diced up speck).

Diced onion and crushed garlic microwaved with a big chunk of butter for a few minutes. Then I peel and dice my potatoes and mix into the butter. Add a splash of milk and microwave for 10 minutes, stir and microwave again. Than cover with grated cheese and bake at 180 for 25minutes.
