    Default Questions about Donor Eggs

    Hello Everyone,

I'm seriously considering traveling overseas for donor eggs. I have an appointment with Dr N. I already have the forms and my understanding is that Dr is affiliated with Genesis IVF Athens. So he's likely to send me there.

Question: Do I have a choice of which clinic to go with? Or am I stuck with Genesis?

I read negative things about Genesis. For instance waiting for hours until your name is called and that it can be kinda rough down there when they put the embryos in... among other things.
    Can anyone confirm that?

Did anyone wait for hours until your name is called in other clinics in Athens?

The cost for Genesis is 6,500 Euro for donor eggs.

Is anyone willing to tell me how much you paid for your donor eggs at other clinics in Athens?

In terms of expense which do you believe is cheaper. Overseas? Or going with a donor bank here for example The World Egg Bank.

Can the clinics in Athens put more than two embryos?

    Question about Sperm Donor.

Will the clinics in Athens pick the sperm donor just like the egg donor?

I'm grateful to anyone willing to answer my questions. Thank you.

    Default Questions about Donor Eggs

There is an 'egg donation in Greece' thread here on bub hub and I'm sure the lovely ladies there will be able to answer all of your questions.

Of course you can go to any clinic you choose btw. You are not locked in to Genesis.

Good luck to you. I have 2 kids from egg donation in South Africa. Best decision we could have made.

ETA...I believe we had the same FS as you based on your questions. We decided to go to a country other than Greece and that was totally fine with hm.

Hi you can go to any clinic in any country you want, it's your decision, your money
I've been to a Greek clinic and one in the Czech Republic, had an absolute horror time at the athens clinic, it's called Embio, don't waste money with that clinic, rough dr, waiting for hours, no information given, nothing on paper, no receipts etc, the clinic I chose in Czech was total opposite.
    Embryoland in Athens sounds good.
both times at my clinic I've had 2 transferred and will have 3 children from that
definitely cheaper going o/s for a fresh de cycle and I paid €4500 for the de cycle with meds extra and as my husband couldnt get anymore time off work to come we used d/s @€150 and embryoscope @€120, the fets are €500

I am 13 weeks pregnant with donor eggs from Dr Nikos at Embryoland. Our donor was 28 and it was an anonymous donation which suited us.

It was our first time with donor eggs. We found it all too hard or expensive in Australia so decided to go international. I would recommend embryoland. Dr Nikos just loves giving people babies!

As MrsErinR has written check out 'egg donation in Greece' thread on bub hub. I can also recommend looking at eggdonation friends site. You can compare ed costs worldwide and would find the online base of egg donors. x
