Default Coogee and another Sydney question

We're travelling from Melb to Sydney and will be there over New Year's Eve.
    We're staying in Coogee.
Where should we book for NYE dinner that is family friendly?
Also will Sydney have 9pm family fireworks?

    Thanks x

Where are you going to be on NYE? There are so many places to eat along the street adjacent to the beach and up Coogee Bay Rd.

Yes, there are 9pm fireworks but it is absolute chaos in the city if that's where you're going

We're not sure yet where we are going to be NYE. We're hoping to have an early dinner in either Coogee or CBD and then see 9pm fireworks.
I know it will be really busy, we stay out of the Melbourne CBD for the same reason, however this is a one time opportunity that we'll be in Sydney for NYE and would love to see fireworks on the bridge.
I'm not even sure where we'll see them from yet!
I'm hoping to eat somewhere with a play area.

Or even somewhere to eat that has views of the bridge?

Hi there, nye is pretty busy in Sydney with most people going harbour side to claim their spot early in the day. I think lots of sites have gates and they open at about 9am with lines of people. I honestly reckon dinner on that night might be hard if you also want to secure a spot for fireworks. If fireworks is your main goal, i would pack a backpack of food and water etc plus blankets and head in for the day. Try mrs macquaries chair or i think the cahill expressway closes so people can stand on it to walk the fireworks. I hope other people have good location ideas for you too: )

Ok so I just spent $399 for the 4 of us to go on a boat cruise 7.30-9.45pm to see 9pm harbour bridge fireworks out on the water. I didn't want to risk not seeing them on land and being stressed and disappointed. We'll have an early Dinner in Coogee and then go!

Great idea for the cruise. I would try to book dinner before you go as places will be packed or have pre sold tix etc
