will be stalking Blossom74 in a good way

Thank you BIB for all your information and support.

Winsor - adoption is a very long and hard process. There are not many local adoptions and intercountry that I looked at adopting from my fathers home country required me to live there for a period of time. Ummmm one i hate flying, two how do i support myself whilst living there. Some countries have an age limit. So for me DE are the way to go. My hubby was dead against the idea and now he has come around to it. thank god!!

I wish i knew where to find donor embryo's instead of starting the whole process again. I wonder what the costs that are involved. I wonder how to find out.

Re: Donor embryos - Yep, they certainly do exist both within Australia and overseas. Many clinics have waiting lists for donor embryos in Australia - they tend to come up more often via clinics than donor eggs do. Even on BH I have heard of amazing women donating excess embryos once they have finished their families. So perhaps that might be an option for you @winsor?
Holding my breath and so excited for you! I feel like spontaneous happy cries are in order.

    You're welcome Luv

You can find them here in Aus.. @Blossom74 can point you in the right direction for the Aus connection to them if you like Luv

As for the o/seas options...I can ask around for you on my Parenting Thread if you want though I *think* some of the Girls on the DE SA/Greek threads here on BH *might* be able to help too as I *think* there are donor embryo's over there as well you can get???? I'm also pretty sure America has them as well Luv.

Just in reply to the adoption discussion, one of the biggest things impacting on that number atm is the long term fostering for children with family members until they are 18. This is the most popular option. Even then, if you long term foster children you can be their guardian until they are 18 but they aren't adopted by you, as such. So all of that impacts on adoptions. I also think societies views on teenage pregnancy, catholic church influences, etc has also made adoptions less likely to occur these days whereas fifty years ago they may have been babies born under these circumstances may have been adopted out.. I can only think of one reason why people would bypass foster care, family foster care and choose to put their baby forward for adoption... Would love someone to enlighten me on this topic... I really have been thinking about it and why it is so many small numbers of children and teenagers are adopted here each year?
