Fertilisation result is out, 18 matured, only 7 fertilised due to low sperm count this round (<100).

Did you do ivf or icsi hun? 7 is good hoping they are very strong and continue on from here. Will you ring daily or find out nearer to transfer how they are going?

We did icsi but they couldn't do picsi due to low sperm count. I knew there will be a drop off but this is bigger than expected.. there will be another big drop off between day4 and 5 so I will be happy if I get 2 pgd normal from this round.

I am transferring frozen embies from previous round, this batch was hoping to be my last attempt to bank some embies before going full force on FET.

I wonder if it took too long for them to take in the specimen. Dh produced at 9 and we got to the clinic at 9:35 but they only took the specimen after 10, I thought it needs to go into lab within an hour, wazza said I could speak to the scientist to find out more.

I know exactly how you feel @Btae its disappointing isn't it, we had a very similar cycle the one before last. Ours was due to less eggs though due to uneven growth with menapur and then we also expected the big drop off at day 4. Its good you have frosties to transfer are they pgd normals? With the sample the number of times we have sat at the hospital with Dh nervously clutching hus brown paper bag with no one taking it, one time he asked the nurse about timing only to be told its suprising how long sperm last for they are very strong. It doesn't help though you just want them to take it and it to be ready to use in the lab. The last few times DH has given his sample at the hospital but he hates doing that but if we dont stay overnight in Brisbane is not possible any other way.

@Heyside thanks hun, I am thinking if we need to stim again I will get him to fly up alone for 2 days and provide sample to freeze. After I told dh, he said he was too tired so that must be why we have low count this round. He doesn't want to do it in hospital so I always have him flied up the day before. It didn't help that he couldn't sleep until 4 am! The embies I am transferring next week are pgd normal ones but lower grade, keeping the best ones in case they don't stick this round.

Iui booked for Wednesday for me, 4 follies seen at scan today, two around the 21mm mark and two smaller ones around the 15mm so they may too small. Lining is 9.8mm so happy with that. Will see how it goes have never done an iui before just ovulation induction in the past without the insemination.
