    Default Is clomid safe?

    Just a random question...

Am I right to assume that clomid is not safe to take while breastfeeding?

A quick search of Lactmed says it would likely decrease BM supply by lowering prolactin levels. So I would avoid it if at all possible.

I guess so. It made me a bit sad I couldn't try for #2 without weaning (we need IVF), I probably would have BF DD past 14 months if I could pregnant the old fashioned way!
Maybe talk it over with your Dr when bub is a bit bigger, might not be such an issue on supply with an older baby?

Is supply the only issue? Or does it transfer to Bub?

It can depend how old bub is and how much you're feeding, my FS said it was fine for me to take while feeding my toddler as he wasn't drinking huge amounts. I don't think it easily passes through milk but it can dry up your supply a bit.
