Default Going on holidays when you own an indoor cat or dog?

What do you do with your indoor dog or cat when you go on holidays (and they can't come along)? Thanks

My Mum and Dad come to stay - they house-sit and cat-sit for us

I am an anxious traveller at the best of times and as lovely as most catteries are, I would worry about my two if they were anywhere but in their own home. Plus, they love my parents so it works out great!

We used to put our cat in a local cattery run by the vet. My parents now use one based in a lady's home for for her 2 cats.

We always get a friend to house sit which is really dog sitting. Works well for us.

We either rent a pet friendly holiday house and bring them with us, or we send the dogs to a boutique doggy retreat and have a friend come by and feed the cat

Our cat was not a fan of other people, so we would just have a friend come by twice a day to feed the cat, clear or change kitty litter as needed. When we went away for 3 weeks we had my brother come and stay.

Only our cats are inside, the dog is outside. We have had family pop in every second day to feed them. Last time we were away for two weeks we asked sil to stay as she lives at home but I don't know if she slept here at all. I think she just fed them and drove the almost hour home.

We have a great cattery just down the road. The lady has purpose built it & all the enclosures are set up like a lounge room with windows and air con. She lets them out 1 at a time to hang out with her in her office. My 2 cats share 1 enclosure - they get totally spoiled!

We have 2 cats. Either MIL comes over or if it is a longer trip we get someone to house sit.
