    Default 50 50 shared care

I would like to hear from anyone with their experiences with 50 50 shared care, has it worked for you or someone you know, has it failed? Why/why not??

Going through this at the moment and so confused. I personally don't see how a child would be alright with week about care, but would love to hear others experiences. Open to ideas of change.

    Thanks so much

DF has his sons month about. It works well for us. During the month with us they will usually stay with their mum for a night about half way through.

I did 50/50 shared care with DS1 from the time he was 10 to 18. Well once he started driving he did what he wanted. We did changeover after school each Monday - so week about.

Ok it would not have worked earlier than this as it requires A LOT of organisation by the child to ensure they have what they need for the week.

It requires frequent and good communication between the parents otherwise assignments, school and social events will get missed.

I didn't like it and nor did my son but we had little option it was court ordered.

I do it, and have been doing it for the last 7 years, since kids were about 5 & 6. Has it hiccups, but can be managed. Kids learn to adjust, but very frustrating if the dad doesn't give a hoot about their schooling or homework etc. So creates quite a lot of pressure on me by taking up the slack
