    Lucky for me he has only ever had to go for 2 nights for work, he's not in a job that would take him away for that long. So it's not a situation of ever have to worry about.

    My kids can be clingy so I just wouldn't go away that long. Being away from them doesn't bother me at all, I'd love it. I just wouldn't go for their sake

    It sounds like the kids will be in good hands with your hubby and it also sounds like a fab opportunity to see your best friend. In your case I'd go.

    My kids are younger but I wouldn't be able to go for a week, even though I'd love to! My DP is away pretty often for 7-10 days at a time and we are always fine but I don't think the kids would be ok without me for more than a night or two. If they were 6 or 7, then I'd prob consider it. My oldest is 3.5 and he'd absolutely struggle.

    I've been away for 6 days so far and I'm so homesick, and I miss my kids way too much. There is no way I could go overseas for a week. Not a chance.

    Personally i couldn't do it. I worry abou my kids when they stay only one night each month at their grandparents and theynlivr in tge next suburb. They do enjoy going

    I found my son coped better with me calling him every day but then again it's always been myself and him too. Even for his school camp a few weeks ago that he would miss me even though he was a 40mins drive away and only gone for 1 night. I work nights so it wouldn't be any different really as to whether he was at home.

    I am starting to look at my next holiday OS in 2 or 3 years time as I want to go longer than the last time I went away which was 16 days. By then kiddo will be a teenager anyway and I won't have any other children now.
