At this point in time I personally wouldn't as my DD is still breastfed, but once she is weaned (as I assume all of yours are lol)? HELL YES. Go!! And make sure you enjoy every second!

I would and am doing it right now! I'm in Japan for a week child free.

My DH goes away for a week at a time twice a year without hesitating. We are equally responsible for our child so why not leave them with him? If he can't look after them then who can?

Yes...I go away OS each year...usually with girlfriends. Best. Week. Ever.
Not only is it good for you to have a break, it's good for the kids to have Daddy in Charge time ☺

    I personally wouldn't.

    Or only for work.

For leisure/time to myself, I draw the line at a couple of hours flight so overseas doesn't work.
IMO they're too small to go so far from them. We also have no family here so it would be DH only 100%.

A week end away with the girls to the country anytime. A week overseas no way.

I think I might change my tune when my kids are over 5yo

I would go, otherwise you may regret not going ! If you feel the guilt just call them or Skype/facetime them at a particular time during the day - like morning or night, that way it helps your conscience LOL and they get to hear from you, and you get to hear how their day went. When you get back you will feel like you haven't even been gone lol. You will have fun picking out a pressie for them each whilst you are away. Enjoy yourself

Default Would you go overseas without family?

I went to Thailand with my sister and two girlfriends last year for 10 days, my kids were 2 and 5. I would definitely go again on a girls trip, it was so refreshing after the few years of hell with lots of family deaths etc I really enjoyed the down time. Sure I missed my kids but it was also amazing to sleep and be me for a while. Dp looked after the kids the whole time, one of whom he's a step dad too, he's a super dad he was a bit frazzled when I came home but no major disasters. I keep telling him to organise a holiday of his own, but we know men, unless I book it it won't happen hahah

Edit to add I also skyped home multiple times a day to talk to the kids and dp.
