    Exclamation Best O/B In Canberra???

Ok mamma's I can't decide which OB in Canberra I would like to see. Ive done a bit of research opting to go private care and birth at Calvary John James in Deakin.

However there is a toss up between the following:
    - DR ELIZABETH GALLAGHER
    - Dr. Jyotica Ruba
    -
    DR OMAR ADHAM

Has anyone out there by any chance had any experience with either of these 3?

I did some research at the end of 2015, just to see one for the issues I was having with my tear. My GP's opinion was that Dr Gallagher was best - but she was inpossible to get in to see in a reasonable time frame. I think it was Dr Adham who apparently doesn't have much of a bedside manner. DS's birth was quite traumatic (wasn't born in ACT), and I was not going to see someone who was apparently so blunt and blasé (there were reviews I read online). I did see Dr Ruba. She was brilliant, I was so comfortable with her. If I was having this baby in ACT, I would totally go to her without question.

Please don't go to JJ's. You may pick your ob, but the midwifery and nursing care is not amazing because of terrible staffing levels. Tch only has 3 shared rooms in all of maternity and the staff at Calvary public are absolutely amazing. If you want an OB, Toby Angstmann is my pick. He is seriously amazing. Im not a fan of OB care for normal pregnancy, but I would absolutely have him as my Dr. But I would absolutely birth at one of the public hospitals.

Agree with pp calvaryJJ has serious staffing issues in maternity. Just had DS3 in August and the middies were lovely but overwhelmed and in very short supply. I had to chase nurses for my pain meds, long waits for them to come - I was alone and immobile after a cesarean so needed help to get DS3 changed and fed.

Anyway if you're a confident 2nd or more time mum you'll probably be ok there. If it's your first I would go elsewhere.

Would highly recommend Dr Ken Tan as OB.

    Congratulations.

I'd also second Ken Tan, I've seen a lot of drs and you could not possibly find a more caring and capable doctor. He treats you like a whole person, is very available and good with any high risk situations.

I know a couple of people who didn't have a great experience with Gallagher but that's just me.
