Just last week my partner ordered a few boxes of booze on line and got it sent to...our old address. Aargh! Once he realised what had happened he jumped in the car and drove around, luckily it was still on the porch and he explained to our tenants what had happened.

But yeah with perishable food, just eat it, no way its going anywhere else now. Sounds like it was a present. It'd be awful if it was and you put it in the bin!

Oh? I've never seen them in shopping centres.

Oddly enough, just after reading this thread today I came home from school pick up to find a Lite'n'easy (who we don't subscribe to!) box on our doorstep It was much easier to sort out than your issue OP. I think that if you haven't heard anything by tonight you should definitely use it or else it's going to go to waste. I can see why someone would order it for you as a nice gesture, but if that's the case it's a bit frustrating that there's no name on it!

I get these boxes delivered weekly and there is never any name/address/invoice (company initials are AFD).

They wouldn't be able to take it back anyway as they couldn't rescue the food (they can't guarantee you stored it correctly).

You did the right thing eating it!

you know that if someone delivers something that you did not order, and invoices you afterwards, you do not have to pay.

Companies have (in the past) used this as a marketing technique - delivering something and making it your responsibility to return it if you dont want it - and the law is very clear. If you did not order it, and they delivered it to you with the expectation that you would pay for it if you wanted it ... you do NOT have to pay for it. It is considered a sample or free gift essentially.

(that is different to them delivering someone elses order to you - but if that happened, they cannot deliver that order to someone else the next day as they dont know that the products have not been contaminated etc ... so if you have made every geniune attempt to return it, keep and enjoy)
