    Default Campers....bed question

Ok so we've always had a camper trailer. We've just sold it and are going to a tent. I am looking at camp beds but I don't know what's better. Either the stretcher type that's off the floor or an air mattress.
I like the stretcher idea because it gives more space to store stuff underneath but the air mattresses seem more comfortable.
Does anyone have any advice as to which would be better?

WIll be going in a few weeks at 33 weeks with this Bub and I'll be more than comfortable. We have had a stretcher bed be for each and it wasn't comfy comfy esepeically with 2 people.

We have a queen air bed for me and DH. I guess I was asking for the kids. I suppose an air mattress would always be more comfortable wouldn't it?

Where will you be camping (cold/warm climate)?

I personally always felt colder on an air mattress (keep in mind I have not camped in quite a few years now). I preferred a stretcher. You can always put a small/thin mattress on top.

We used to camp a lot and just used air mattresses on the ground. The air mattresses are okay, however if you can afford them, I think stretchers would be better.

We went beach camping and I found the beds used to get full of sand. The kids would trek it inside the tent and the sand would invariably end up in their beds, no mater how many times I swept out the tent or told them to wipe their feet before going inside. Stretchers would help prevent this, plus stuff can be stored underneath them.

We have an air mattress on a frame. We also use an eggshell and a blanket to keep out the cold. It also makes it that bit more comfortable.

Urgghhh. .I dislike both stretchers and air mattresses. We use the self-inflating foam mattresses, much more comfy..but probably depends how much room you have to lug gear. If the kids are small either option is probably fine. My older kids particularly dislike air beds as they share and when one person moves the whole bed rocks!

I have a jumbo dune Mat for when I go to cub camp (the rest of the time we have a camper trailer and the kids use the dune mats) it's super comfortable.
