I would proceed with caution... At 2 kids can have some pretty strong attachments to their comforter. I wouldn't remove the dummy until your toddler has formed a close attachment with something else. Perhaps pin the dummy to a cloth comforter or teddy for a month or so before taking the dummy off.

    Good luck

She also has a bunny comforter that she uses whenever she uses her dummy.

Yep. We just left DS with his comforter also. If he really protested he wanted his dummy, we gave in. We never made it stressful, just a gradual thing over weeks/months. We relied on just forgetting about it. It was never about 'just taking it away' for us.

Since your baby is only 2mo I would wait a bit. Your 2yo has had some pretty drastic changes lately! I would try in about 6 months time when it feels like the baby has always been there

Thanks everyone. I think I'll just leave her with it for a while longer. I hate dummies but it got us through those horrific reflux days. Glad DD2 hasn't needed one.

I kind of hate myself for this but we're planning on having Santa take them to give to babies who don't have dummies. Ugh I can't believe this is what I've become! Hahahaha who am I kidding. I don't care really. I don't hate him having a dummy either but it has to go at some point!

I've decided I'm not getting rid of it until he's done napping. He only has it for sleeps so it's not really a problem and I know if I get rid of it before that he will stop napping which I'm not ready for! So when he stops napping we'll do the dummy fairy and I don't think he'll really care as he'll be stuffed by bedtime and just pass out.
