@TaylorMade that is so sad, poor Josie
My little man Buddy had 7 mast cell tumours removed 4 months ago.... the vet keeps calling and saying we need to start his chemo treatment now but we have made the tough decision not to put him through chemo is he is nearly 12 so we wouldn't be extending his life for long anyway.
We just keep an eye out for any new tumours and we let him sleep on the big bed with us every night, cuddle up and snoring in our ears. We love it, so does he, and he will be spoilt every day until he is no longer with us.
Josie will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge one day, just remember that xxxx IMG_1477472208.332834.jpgIMG_1477472228.035113.jpg

Thank you. We took her for one last walk at the lake behind our house today, she was running around like a mad thing loving it (I took pics on DH's phone because mine died) and DH & I said to each other that it's hard to believe she's so sick when she's still so energetic. It's what made the decision so heartbreaking for us, that if it weren't for the cancers all over underneath her, we'd probably be none the wiser. She hasn't quite been herself, but we would probably have chalked that up to her finally settling down.
I bought her a whole chicken to have for dinner, and I got some dog friendly cakes for her to have tomorrow at her going away party.

I'm sorry to hear. We had to put one of our Great Danes down when he was 9 (still considered old for that breed) as he had bone cancer and similar reason, he was already old and the treatment wouldn't have bought him enough time to justify putting him through it. It's awful loosing pets.

So our darling girl went to sleep at about 4:20 this afternoon, with her head in DH & I's hands and hearing that we'll love her forever.
We threw a little going away party for her before we left home so DD1 could say goodbye.
I contacted a local dog bakery on Monday and asked if she could squeeze us in so we could treat Josie before she went, and the lovely lady made her some cupcakes. She wouldn't take any payment for them so I made a small donation to the shelter that we got Josie from on her behalf.
It's hard to believe she's gone, and being there with her was so hard. I'm glad that she was happy when she went, and we have a lifetime of fun memories of our first baby. ❤️
