    Default U.S. Election

@Phony you don't have time to list the things you hate about Trump yet you post endlessly about Clinton.

She's gone. Dead. Living out a beautiful retirement with Bill and her heaps of millions and her grandkids. She'll be fine.

    So forget about her. Please

Devote some time to addressing our numerous comments listing what scares us about Trump.

You have time. You just don't want to.

I hope you're not going to try and blame Hillary for this. ******** Trump created the perfect storm for this environment with his blatant hate speech. So ******** Trump should take responsibility, grow some maturity and fix it.

(That being said I would expect Hillary to be the bigger person and try to help).

    You don't listen.
Pigeon-hole people into one camp or the other.
But you have pigeon holed yourself by being so one sided, that's my point. You clearly have a huge bias, which in itself is ok, I have one too. But then I'm up front I'd vote for Clinton and that I'm a Labor/Greens voter here.

See my comment a page back but her and Obama have both addressed the protests and asked for a peaceful transfer of power.

I said the children shouldn't be around parents spewing hatred for a candidate so much that the child is having a tantrum when he's elected.
People really shouldn't bring their kids into it.

    I didn't elect Trump.
Besha posted a really good article earlier, I would imagine that has a LOT to do with it but spin and flying accusations in here has me convinced these riots were inevitable.

    Pathetic.
No you said this (basically everyone knows what trump is like so send kids out of the room to protect them). If it's not what you meant perhaps be a little more considered and measured in your comments:

That's not condoning his behaviour, that's just protecting your child the same as you would if a violent film came on or whatever.

A child who has a reaction on hearing he was elected, has sat through more than one tv appearance.

Not of the Trump variety anyway.
I'm assuming your son isn't my daughter's age though? If you are raising a socially aware child, let me tell you that it is physically impossible to block this stuff out once they hit 11/12+.

And also she's just been rejected by the people and told she's not wanted as their president. We don't even know if the protestors voted. Who's to say her involvement beyond what she's done would help anyway.

Unlike Australia there isn't a real opposition leaders role. She has no real role now.

I was a preschool teacher when September 11th happened, and that was before social media and the Internet being as powerful as it is now, and even then kids knew what was happening. Even if you endeavor at home to shield them from the news they still go to school and hear other children speak about it. Elections are also taught at school, obviously not in an inflammatory or negative way, but it is still discussed. It's naive to think in this day and age that you can shield your children from this. You can try and steer the conversation more positively but you can't stop them from hearing things from various other sources.

Anyway the rhetoric is going to trickle down amongst his supporters until kids are flinging insults around in the playground and saying 'you're a terrorist the President said so'.

More importantly my beef with people like Trump and Pauline Hanson and the like is that they demonstrate no honor in the political system. It's the government! Not a violent movie, it shouldn't be something we have to protect the kids from. We're not living in some war torn region. Sure have your opinions but express them decently, don't bully and don't incite unjustified hatred.

There's a real problem if you have to 'protect' your kids from the hateful garbage coming out of the mouth of the President of the country.
Totally agree. Parents can not shield their kids from hearing Trump blowing his Trumpet. In which case it's 1000 times worse if parents don't talk things through with their kids (in an age appropriate way) and explain that hateful racist behavior is not ok.
