    Default Tween boys and puberty.

Someone please come and stroke my hair and pack DS1 a bag for boarding school.

DS1 has just turned 11 but has been getting increasingly moodier over the past twelve months. He is rude, defiant, stubborn and LIFE IS JUST SO UNFAIR, NOBODY UNDERSTANDS, NOBODY LOVES ME.

I have also noticed some body changes as well.

I always thought having a pre pubescent boy would be lots of fart jokes, squeaky voices and acne. I know all that is to come but the moods girls, the moods have shocked me! My brother was just a silent ball of hormones. This is all new to me.

Any advice or anyone want to join in with questions/whinging etc?!

That's ok. Maggie is a wealth of knowledge, just so practical and a HUGE advocate for boys in particular.

Poor guy, lots of changes happening with him. Hope you find some tips to help X

    Never!

I've had a particularly bad morning with DS today. He's taken up punching, pushing his siblings etc and is also quite nasty verbally as well. Plus talking back to mum and I. I want my sweet little man back

Takes about 4-5 years I'm sorry to say. Even then it's not 100% improvement. DS1 is almost 22 now and mostly my lovely child again.

Maggie is brilliant and so is Steve Biddulph (raising boys was my bible for DS1).

Does your son play any sport? Sport was a life saver in this time for me. It tired DS1 out, gave him a socially acceptable and safe outlet for releasing all the physical energy and offered a male role model in the form of the coaches.
