Never had a scratch before, they told me it was slightly more invasive than a pap smear, so not getting knocked out and back to work straight away... does that sound right? They also told me to take a Panadol an hour before, so sounds like I should maybe take something stronger? Is there any bleeding afterwards?

@Blossom74 - I think a sac is all you expect to see at this stage. Scans before 7 weeks are the same as the roller coaster of multiple HCG tests. If you wait til 7 weeks the Dr can be definite about what you should see. I would wait til 7 weeks to do the next one!
I wouldn't worry too much about symptoms - having them and not having mean different things in different pregnancies. In my miscarriage I had lots of symptoms because my HCG kept rising yet it was doomed from the beginning. You really can't judge from symptoms or lack thereof I think.

@Spazzypup i have had a scratch and flush before. I had x2 naprogesic and x1 endone on board an hr before and yes it was a little worse than a pap smear. Not sure i could just do panadole but either way its super quick. @Phia great numbers im like @Heyside though ive had so many failures i say put 2 back to increase your chances.
to all the ladies

Panadol???? WTF???
This ain't no headache you're dealing with here honey!!
I think at the very least you should be getting yourself a couple of Naprogesic under your belt either on its own or with some Panadeine or Panadeine Extra (that one is Pharmacist Only so ask for it at the counter as it's stronger than Panadeine...it's got 15mg's codeine in it)
Usually there's a bit of spotting/light bleeding and cramping afterwards Luv but nothing too major. Panadol indeed!!! WTF are they thinking recommending that sh!t?????They've obviously not had it done themselves is my guess!!!
The pain of the scratch itself doesn't last long though if you're also having a biopsy done at the same time (which a lot of Lovelies do have done to check for things like NK Cells in the uterus), then it can be more painful...however, pain is a subjective thing for everyone. I've heard it described as around a 6/10 pain though for some women such as myself who have issues with having their cervix dilated (for me it's due to scar tissue from previous surgery) it's bloody agony for me when it's done then having the catheter pushed through etc, it's more like 9/10..10/10 pain so I need loads of decent drugs to get me through!!!
For other Lovelies, I've heard them say it was a little bit uncomfortable and that was about it and no big deal so probably a 4-5/10 for them. You won't really know until you have it done Luv to be honest.Last edited by BlondeinBrisvegas; 31-10-2016 at 22:56.
