    Default IVF over 40's #42

@Ruby2015 - welcome to the thread!

I'm so sorry to hear about your BFN especially with PGD embryo! And all the way to Joburg too!

A few of us had had BFN with PGD embies. It's so disappointing given all the hurdles to get an embryo that's chromosomally ok at our age. It's a bloody mystery. Am also doing prednisolone and clexane for this cycle. I'm going to dig deeper into immunity issues!

@Ruby2015 sorry to give you more bad news but you cant import embryos that are from anonymous donors. Stupid australia wont let anyone import any anonymous sperm, eggs or any human tissue that is anonymous. Im actually thinking of taking @BlondeinBrisvegas advice and calling dr. Matthias myself. My partner and I are also trying to eliminate any other issues before we spend all that time, $ and effort doing de again. Have you considered donor embryos (not just eggs)? That also might be an option just incase but if you had pgd normal embies then i guess dp's sperm is ok. I wish there was more i could do to help. To be honest, im not looking forward to going to greece by myself either. And i know how you feel about "nothing" going right. Its especially hard when you get all excited about the better odds of de and it works first go for so many people, which is what inspires you in the first place! It seems so unfair when youve already sacrificed your own eggs. My dh and i just recently went to greece for donor eggs, we had 9 beautiful eggs from a 26 year old girl. By day 3 we only had 2 embryos left, all the rest fragmented or died off and so it seems dh has sperm issues (which we had no idea about before we went as all his tests came back excellent). No frosties and no bfp :-( I also felt like nothing has gone our way! And, im bloody 36 years old and been ttc for 7 years! Its polly-wolly-crappy. Sometimes i feel like i just keep going so one day i can say fruck you ivf- i win (i forget about even having a baby, like thats just an added bonus on top of beating ivf!) xox

Hi there I don't know how to tag people to reply to them??? In regards to the immunity thing...isn't that why you take prednisilone?...I thought that was to help the body accept the embryo?

Sorry to hear about all your disappointments too....atleast you are only 36!....I would love to be 36 again...my husbands sperm is fine...I've just heard back from the nurse at the clinic and she offered me no insight..well then at this stage I will plan to fly back on the 4/5 th of December to try our last embie....I said to my husband the other night how far will we go to get a baby??...if this one doesn't work will we get another donor and start the whole process again?? I don't know if I could...

Hi @Ruby2015, to tag people you just need to put the @ symbol in front of their name. :-) Yeah, the prednisolone is too depress the immune system. I think the only otherthing that can be done is to do intrallipid infusions. But i havent done that myself. Im hoping a few more of the girls will pop in over the next few hoyrs or days because lots of them know way more than me. We all try to help each other along this journey. Sometimes i like to read through the earlier posts and threads and see how other people have struggled too so i know its not just me. There was a lady called juliemalooley (who i dont know but others on here do) She had one of the hardest, longest struggles with oe and de ivf ive ever heard of but she got there eventually although even after the birth of her twins, things didnt go smoothly. Its amazing the suffering people can endure to be honest. Im kinda hoping that it was just very bad luck and you unfortunately were the 10% that didn't work and this frostie is the golden one xox

Hi @Ruby2015 I've been over to Hawaii 3 times now to transfer Pgd normal donor embryos. I have only just got my bfp this time around so still early days. My advice would be to get the immune testing done and HLA match with your husband. If you have a match or partial match you will need LIT treatment and if you have killer cells which I'm guessing you probably do you will need extra treatment of intralipids. I was on clexane and aspirin and pred and it did nothing it seems the intralipids and neupogen have been the winning combination so far. I would not go back until you have had these things tested. Happy to answer any other questions tho I'm not expert it's just my experience.

Haha...thanks @gorgeousgeorge I'm a bit of a ditz!!! Finding forums like this really helps...it's very easy to feel angry and bitter which is what I don't want...thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome..if you don't mind me asking @gorgeousgeorge are you trying another donor or trying a donor embryo?
