There isn't much around and you'd need to cab it places. Plaka and Monastaraki are good areas as is Kolonaki. Shops, restaurants, markets and in the thick of it.
Diamond Hotel just off Ermou Street is in a brilliant location, right near all the major large stores. Rooms are nice and rates reasonable. I can recommend many hotels from personal experience and apartments depending on your budget.
A cab from Plaka area to the clinic will be about 7-8 euro.

Thanks a lot . Yes first time in Greece . Will be going to Dr. Nicos. He did suggest president hotel , but the hotel has terrible reviews on Expedia .

I have searched many hotels in Plaka , but the nicer ones are booked during my dates .

So should I tick off the Kimpiski area . Great reviews on this area though . Peaceful and safe , so on . But since the primary objective is the treatment , I would prefer some place where I can convenient find transport to the doctor .

Are you suggesting Athens Diamond plus ?

My budget is 100-120 Euros per day .

    Any suggestion is welcome .

    Thanks a lot 😘

@Homy, this is our first time in Athens so I just got onto Airbnb and spent hours working out good areas and distances from things. We are taking our one year old so I found a self contained apartment that seems to be close walking distance to most things and 3 kilometre taxi ride to the clinic. I figured we will be able to get a taxi to see dr Nikos whenever he needs us and be close to shops/ markets/ restaurants and in a safe area.

Hi @Nilza79 & @Homy, I went over the Athens last Sept and stayed near my clinic (Serum, although I don't think it is too far from Embryoland), I would recommend to stay nearer to a more tourist area with restaurants and things to see. You can easily get to the clinic when you need to go but will spend most of you time away from the clinic. I understand the nerves and the most important reason why you are there, but you will feel better once you have been to the clinic once and know where you are going in Athens. Plenty of cabs in Athens and the public transport system cheap and easy to get around on. I'm going back some time in May and will probably stay closer to Plaka or another area.
