@Charlie74 hi, i reckon the good things about the president is it is about 20m from the clinic, takes 5 mins to walk there, if that. Breakfast is nice but crazy crowded, room is ok/nice but nothing special. IMO The reastuarant food was terrible and $$$ . Would never eat there again and no wifi, or 27aud a day for wifi charge. So im not keen to stay there again. I think someone else mentioned a few other hotels near the clinic but i cant remember who it was. Its on this thread/#5 somewhere i think coz it wasnt that long ago they mentioned a few other good accommodation options.

@Charlie74 best Western Amazon (best beds!!) breakfast included and also the plaka hotel, breakfast included and also has a wee rooftop bar where you can watch the sun set over the acropolis, both are situated in the plaka district and nice and close to acropolis/flea markets and plenty of restaurants around !!

@Charlie74 I've had light anaesthestic before and you are still completely knocked out - it just means you're only out for 1/2 hour or so I think.
As for accommodation, we stayed at the Best Western Amazon - totally comfortable, close to Syntagma Square, Plaka and loads of awesome places to eat. We ate at a different spot every night and didn't have a bad meal anywhere. There's a laundry on the block, and the best souvlaki bar in Athens right next door (Kostas) just make sure you get there early - they sell out by around 1pm!
    When do you head over?
ETA - not sure on cost for the hotel - we went in peak season, and paid for all of our accommodation well before we left, including our 5 days on the islands.

    Thanks @gorgeousgeorge, @stacey10 & @AngelD.... Really appreciate the info!!

I'm reading this thread from the very beginning and storing up info, but I'm a bit time poor at the moment so it's taking a while! that Best Western sounds like a go-er! Thanks for the tip!
@AngelD you might be right about the anaesthetic! infact maybe that's what I've had anyway at Monash previously? I've never actually asked what kind they use.. Just know I was asleep!

We haven't decided yet when we'll go.. We're still figuring everything out & we're talking to Dr N in January to discuss how it will work etc, how long I need to be there for etc.. But we're tentatively thinking April at this stage.

Has anyone done a cycle in April?

We're wondering how long does Dr N shut up shop for over Greek Easter? We're thinking of going in April & Greek Easter is Sunday 16th

@Charlie74 we've just booked our flights for April, going just after Easter to be there when the clinic reopens on 20 April - we're with Genesis though. It's feeling more real now that we've booked! Cheap flights currently with Etihad if you're interested...
@francesthecat that's so lovely to hear that it was your post-Easter that cycle that worked for you, makes me feel positive too!

I was worried there might not be as many donors available over Easter, but have been told there's heaps all the time so fingers crossed!

Hi Ladies, thought I'd pop in and say hello. Hope you are all well.

We stayed at the Melia and Airotel Alexandros. The Airotel was cheaper and in a really nice area, the buffet there wasn't the greatest. But awesome food nearby.

Congratulations on booking your flights Peninsula Girl. That's exciting

Update on me. I'm 10w5d today. So far things are going very well. We get the results of the Nest test (like the harmony test) on Wednesday. Hanging for 3rd Jan for our next scan cause I've had a tiny of brown discharge in the last week.

I can't wait to get off the medication for natural killer cells!

@Lilhansy what an exciting time! I'm so thrilled for you - I'm sorry I can't remember your story - how many times did you have to try with DE?

I'm sure the brown discharge is normal - given the meds you're on. Best of luck

    I'm getting super for May!
