Dd starts kindy next year so sad can't believe how fast she has grown. I am very depressed about it.

I'm bit confused about each state prep, pre kinder etc but good luck mummas!
@A-Squared I would order her uniforms if your getting them from the school or buy from target etc..

Also re shoes I had huge feet as a kid and so do my kids we buy DS shoes every 3 weeks Dreading school shoes already! I asked my mum to buy kids planet boxes for Xmas for kids and fill them with a chocolate frog lol

Another one with kinder orientation starting this week. Parents stay at ours.

In the information pack they sent home there was information about uniform shop opening times - I hadn't even thought about it! I assumed I'd get hers before the start of the year of course, not remembering she'd BE one of those children starting next year! Totally crept up on me.

Her year group seems really lovely, she's made a couple of little friends and has been very excited to go to the playgroup sessions they've had before orientation.

I'm VERY emotional...I'm excited for her, she's so ready, but wow. I'll have a school child!

What time does your just about to start school child go to bed at night and when do they wake up. I'm concerned DD isn't getting enough sleep for School.

At the moment she is in bed between 7.30-8 most nights, she is usually up around 7.30-8 but we will probably need to adjust the wake up time for school. This morning we were super rushed trying to get a quick bath, dressed and breakfast done before 9.15 transition, we usually bath/shower in the mornings as we eat dinner when DH gets home and I think bedtime is already late enough but might have to find a new routine.

My 3.5 year old is asleep by 630pm and up before 6am most days. She never naps unless it's in the car for 5 seconds.

I worry she isn't getting enough sleep for school next year too.

My ds who is 6 next April goes to bed at 8pm with lights out at 8:30 (we read together and he 'reads' for a bit by himself). He is up at about 7:30am most days. He is doing 4 year old kinder this year (5 days a fortnight, 8:45am-2:45pm), and hasn't needed to adjust his sleeping patterns but I'm sure next year will be a bit different. I'm hoping having every Wednesday off for the first term will help him adjust too.

My 4 year old goes to bed (not necessarily sleep) at 8pm when the rest of her siblings do. She gets woken up at 7am.
