My DS, my youngest, starts Pre-primary next year...He so desperately needs full time school and I can't wait! I haven't put any thought into it at all actually. In WA the kindy and PP are usually in the same Early Learning centre in the Primary school grounds, so he's basically moving into the next room for more days...same uniform etc...

First school orientation day this morning and it was really good! I'm so excited for my boy to start kindy next year. He had a great time during the couple of hours we were there, and thankfully there are a few people he already knows from preschool that are going to start with him next year.

I've just finished reading through all the booklets, pamphlets, info packs etc that they provided in our "welcome bags". Lots of information to absorb! And now I have so many questions

I've ordered a bunch of label packs online using their recommended label provider and got a 50% discount which is awesome. Already picked up the summer school uniform today as well as school bag, hat, library bag, chair bag. I just need to buy shoes and a lunch box. Where's a good place to buy good quality comfy black shoes for kindergarten? I'm in NSW (Sydney).

Still tossing up between a planet box lunchbox or something else.. Also we need to provide a "crunch and sip" morning snack for the classroom in a separate container.

There's a 2nd orientation day next Tuesday. Hopefully Bub won't make an appearance before then.

Default First time school starters 2017 chat thread!

Can you recommend the best place to buy online?

Edit - never mind. I've ordered from an Australian distributor - will receive it all in 2 business days!

We got the details today for transition days, maybe this was silly of me to assume but I hadn't realised I would be expected to attend transition sessions! They are weekly for an hour (9.15-10.15) spread over three weeks and then the fourth one is 3 hours on their own.

Glad I'm a sahm and can easily attend but do I take my 2 year old with me or try to organise a babysitter?

My Ds turns 5 on 11th Feb! So far he's enrolled and we have orientation on Monday! We're in Vic.

Do you have to stay there for those sessions? If not then it's not an issue, but if so I guess I'd get the 2 year old babysat (if it's an option).

    Biome Eco stores

It was slightly cheaper than buying from the U.S. Official website, and it will be delivered a lot sooner.
