She's at kindy isn't she (as in nor reception / prep / school)? Even less likely to make friends the first day.

I worry about my DD too as it appears other kids have 'friends' already and she just talks to and plays with anyone no matter what gender or age, but as everyone has said friendships are tricky especially if she's not yet in primary school and only there half the week

How are all the school starters?

My son plays by himself, thinks school is a bit boring and would rather be home playing iPad :-o

My son is doing well. Started Tuesday. Had a handful of meltdowns but coping okay otherwise. Everyone is being very accommodating for him at the moment

DD is enjoying it. She's not excited to go but is okay to go and only got upset on Monday (day 6) when I left for work and DH took her to school which she wasn't happy with.

I don't get much out of her when I ask questions or what her favourite thing of the day was, I'm usually met with the answer I can't remember.

DD is loving kindy! So happy for her.
I get the 'I don't remember' too, but have had more luck with starting a conversation around little details.
    E.g. :

Me: so was it hot today?
DD: very hot. They turned the sprinkler on!
Me: oh that sounds like fun. Did you play in it?
    DD: only a bit
Me: what about the other kids?
DD: some did. Maybe 4 or 5 or 6. Most kids played inside
    Etc.

My son also seems very emotional and edgy, he is always getting upset for reason and really snappy!

Pleased to report DS has adjusted really well to school so far

I was expecting him to be more tired than usual after being at school all day, but nope! He's his normal energetic self at home in the afternoon/evening

Feels like he's really growing up now. He even has his first loose tooth!

Last week the air conditioner apparently stopped working in their classroom - I really hope it'll be fixed for today because we're about to have a rotten 3 day heat wave. Those poor kids will be so overheated

DS2 is really enjoying it, we are seeing some real improvements at the moment, very hopeful for the future.

DD is loving it. She doesn't know anyone's names apart from the ones from preschool last year but she is still very happy to go and is making new friends. It was her birthday Tuesday so I took cupcakes in and it was really interesting to watch them interact when we haven't really seen that at school drop off/pick up.
