Last night, after her first day ever at school, DD asked "How many sleeps until I'm DONE with school?"
    I said "When you're a grown up".
She then squealed and jumped up and down on our bed! Lol!
I imagine that her enthusiasm might soften as time goes on, but it's so cute how much she loves it for now

DD had a bit of a moment yesterday about not wanting to be the 'new girl'. It didn't even occur to me that's what she might think! I was very quick to assure her that everyone will be new - it will be everyone's first day! I think she must have thought kinder was this continuing thing like daycare and only she would be starting on the 14th. She feels so much better now! She had a big play in the playground with a couple of girls from her class, and is feeling much more excited now they'll all be starting together (staggered starts here but luckily they all start on the same day in the second week).

Anyone else's newbie having a sleep regression? DD wakes at all hours and comes and wakes me up too. It's getting ridiculous, she woke me 3 times between 1 and 5am!

I'm not sure if she wakes and is hyper alert because of all of the big changes and it's on her mind or what the case is, but she needs more sleep if she's going to get through 5 days a week at school.

DD took ages to go to sleep last night, which is not really unusual in itself, but she kept calling out asking questions (just a bit annoying really!). It's like she couldn't settle. Once she's asleep she stays asleep though.

My only issue with her is that she won't eat breakfast! I think she may be a bit nervous/excited and it's affecting her appetite. I'm hoping she will calm down eventually and go back to eating normally in the mornings. She's on her second day of school and today she only had a tiny bit of yoghurt. On Wednesday all she had was a cup of milk . Can't really force her to eat.

DS went well yesterday according to his teacher

I thought he'd be more tired than usual after his big day but he was still his active little self!

This morning I had to wake him at 7:00am and after he was up for a little bit he said he wanted to come to work with me, not go to school, but he got over that pretty quickly.

I asked him yesterday afternoon if he has a friend at school and he named one little girl in his class, which was really nice to hear because all the previous times I've asked him about friends (like last year when he was at preschool 3 days a week) he clams up and won't answer the question.

First day drop off went really well! DS was so excited and was very happy to go to class. Listened attentively and didn't make a fuss. Very proud of my big boy

Ds is going to OOSH care today and I'm wondering if I should pick him up early or let him stay til the usual time that I would keep him there (6pm). It seems like a very long first day.. I'm home today so don't really need to keep him there til 6, but his brother is in childcare until 6 anyway.. decisions decisions . I might pick him up earlier, maybe 4/4.30pm just so he has enough time to get a feel for the OOSHcare and understand that's the routine

DD has been doing before and after school care. DH picked her up yesterday at 4 - he could have picked her up earlier but it gave her a chance to get used to the routine but so it wasnt a massive day for her.

One of us will pick her up at about 530 tonight.

So far I think she's really enjoying it!!

No sleep regression but a toileting (poo) one. He's taking forever to go to sleep too but once asleep stays asleep

I wonder how long my DD will last getting up early and being ready an hour ahead of schedule

Normally she sleeps in until about 8:30 or so on weekends, but today she emerged from her bedroom fully dressed and ready to walk out the door at 7:15am! Haha She made a B-line for the bathroom to brush her hair as well. So cute
