DH and I went out alone together for the first time since dd was born 18 months ago... to bunnings my mum and BIL were here while dd napped and we skipped down the driveway holding hands saying let's not come back haha. We did

This just made me lol! I hope your Bunnings trip went for at least an hour!

Mum let me out kid free yesterday, I was beside myself with excitement.

DH got the header going after it has been breaking down for the past week. I'm so happy for him. Harvest has taken its toll already on them and they've still got nearly 1000 acres left plus straw to cut and bale. He's been so stressed out and miserable about it. Saying "everything I touch falls apart" which isn't true of course but that's how he was feeling. So my happy is for him today.

    I forgot yesterday!!

Day 2: drinks with friends from Melbourne while our toddlers played so nicely together, cheese and prosecco

Day 3: watching DH do push-ups with ds1 giggling on DH's back and ds2 on his tummy in front of him giggling away. I have a picture but won't share it since you can see their faces. Love my boys

We bought new chickens today for dd (we had to sell ours a few months ago while DH was working interstate).
For the chicken lovers - we got a lovely Plymouth Rock, silver laced Wyandotte and French wheaten maran

I love Plymouths. I have 4 (out of 15 chooks) and they are by far my favourite. Keen to get a Wyandotte in the future. Would love a golden laced.

I'll take a photo of them this arvo for you
We've had a French wheaten maran before and she laid huge (70g) dark brown beautiful eggs. We have also had a Wyandotte too - very sweet pretty chook. Our old maran and Wyandotte hens laid 5 eggs a week each which was pretty good (we also had 2 frizzle bantams that laid about 10 little baby eggs a week)! The Plymouth Rock is supposed to be a very friendly and follow you around type of chicken and good layers and I think they're very pretty too!
Your DS would love chickens do it @TheGooch!!

I think we need a dog to keep the foxes away from my chickens when I get them. And after our pup's sad demise about a month ago, not quite ready for another dog yet
Send photos so I can live vicariously through your chickens until I can get mine!
