Like a PP said, a little boy choked to death after his mum gave him a gumball to quiet him at the shops. So scary!
My nearly 3yo loves mint too, DH occasionally gives her one of those little eclipse mints that he keeps in his work car.
As far as I know, chewing gum and mints contain artificial sweeteners (the sugar free ones anyway), which I'm not too keen on, especially for little kids. But I think that's a personal choice.

My kids all love my tic tacs I keep in the car. I don't mind because they are extra minty fresh smelling for a bit lol

Not that I'm dismissing the choking aspect but a gumball is very different to a 1/4 stick of gum.

Agreed, but if it happened to turn into a whole stick of gum, the two are very similar once chewed up.

Maybe she could have her own little mint plant to look after?

My kids are obsessed with mint! I make raw mint slice and use a few drops of a food grade peppermint oil in them

I'm the OP. I literally just ate my last piece of chewing gum out of my work bag. No more gum in the house and no more gum for my little miss! 😀

Thanks for your advice peeps and I'm going to try making mint slice and showing my bub that the mint we have growing in our garden is a much better option!
