Ok so hubby & I are wanting to add to our family but have really been put off by the long adoption waiting period & horrible stories here in Qld. While googling i came across this article:
How did this couple get passed all the red tape? I dont understand.
Did they manage becuase no money exchange was involved? How would they have even found the mother of the child?
Wanting to really look into it to see if this may be an option for us.
Any information, advice & opinions are welcome 😊

How did they skip the Adoption wait!?!?!

My understanding is that case wasn't a true adoption so to speak. More like a legal agreement between the parties. The official process in Qld isn't so bad once you get into it though, don't lose hope.

Relatives of friends of a family friend did something similar to this is Vic. Sorry obviously the fact that all my info is 3rd hand means I don't know much of the details. I believe they were on the waiting lists but put in contact with someone privately through their church. They had bub from a couple of days old but there was a 12 month period when the birth mum could reneg and get the child back. I believe after that the child was oficially "adopted" but not sure if there was still a different term. They have ongoing contact and are very open about the adoption.
Sorry, I wish I had more info for you and other couples desperate for a child. I just wanted to share further evidence that it can happen.
